Part 2: Clinical ED Training

We begin this portion of the course by understanding the neurophysiology and neuroanatomy of an erection. Next, we review risk factors, common comorbidities, and symptoms of erectile dysfunction as well as key takeaways from clinical studies on acoustic wave therapy and its applications. The agenda includes:

Effective treatment options for Peyronie’s disease
Understanding peptides
Hormone replacement therapy overview and implantation
Introduction to PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) methods like the O-Shot® and Priapus Shot® (P-Shot®)

Dr. David Hernandez provides the “P-shot” (Platelet-rich plasma injection for male sexual dysfunction) training and “O-shot” (Platelet-rich plasma injection for female sexual dysfunction) training and also leads the shockwave therapy certification. In this portion, you’ll explore exciting state-of-the-art extracorporeal shockwave therapy treatments used to improve circulatory function.

After undergoing clinical training, participants have the opportunity for hands-on treatment demonstrations and experience with actual patients. The device we use for our demos is the InPulsa Shockwave Therapy System from Rohrer Aesthetics. It is a non-invasive, non-surgical shockwave therapy device that uses a handheld applicator to improve circulation and blood flow in all areas of the body. Procedures are quick — approximately 20 minutes. There are no needles, no anesthesia, and no recovery time needed, so patients can go straight back to their daily routines!

In general, it is recommended that ED patients undergo at least six shockwave therapy treatments over the course of a few months. Results last for approximately two years.
